Q1) What form of medium (music, art or literature) allows you to best connect with Jesus and why?

I think that music allows me the best to connect with Jesus because the music is peaceful and allows me to think quietly about what God wants me to be and why and also I feel that music can make me realise that God is always there for me. Art and statues of our Lord is another good way for me to communicate with Jesus, as when I look hard at those statues and images, I can see myself closer to Jesus.

This image is of a guitar and when it is played, it is the type of sound that I like to listen to when im in the church and reflecting upon my relationship with God.

Q2) Why has Jesus been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history?

I think that Jesus has been portrayed in so many different ways throughout history so that the Artist can express their own opinions through what they believe an image of Jesus would look like and there were so many different ways because of the fact that they were influenced by the art period going through around that time of the artwork. These images are also different because they are looked through the eyes of other people and they draw what they believe an image of Jesus would look like.

This is an image of Jesus which was drawn a long time ago and by the artist unknown, but this would be him vision of Jesus, being on the cross.

This is another image of Jesus and quite obviously the artist has an image or vision of Jesus with concern about the Earth and as you can see, there is a tear drop in his eye.
Q3) How is Jesus portrayed in Parramatta Marist?

I personally think that Jesus is portrayed at Parramatta Marist by everyone, including students, teachers, helpers and cleaners etc, by showing that they all interact well as a group and school community. We all help each other and that what Jesus wanted us to do. I think that this is so because everyone cares for each other and treats everyone equally, and being a Christian school, we are following and listening to Saint Marcellin Champagnat, our patriot saint, we are believing in the visions and thoughts of Jesus, Mary and God ect. We also portray Jesus by small things like the mid day pray where we as a school stop for that little minute or that, so that we can reflect and pray to the angels in Heaven. And other things like just recently participating in the Saint Marcellin Champagnat day mass with four other schools is a symbol or sign of Jesus in all of us.

In conclusion, all most everything at Parramatta Marist High portrays the views, beliefs and images of Jesus. And being such a multi cultural school and a school with many religions, we are all one and all for one, showing a major value of Jesus, in that being love one another as I loved you.

This image is one where Jesus is helping two kids who obviously about to die, so Jesus is helping those two kids, and thats what us at Parramatta Marist High School do, not necessarily saving a life, but helping each other.

Q4) Which artistic time period do you think best represents your image of Jesus and why?

I think that the Art period that would best represent my image of Jesus would be the Baroque style art and I feel that my image of Jesus best fits into the Baroque Art Style because those image of Jesus are based on those images which shows the struggle and pain that Jesus endured in His life.
Q5) Identify 1 images that appeals to you? What do you like about the representation?

This picture appeals to me the most because it is one with Jesus and Him helping and teaching a yonger boy. This appeals to me the most because I really want everyone to be like that in the world, instead of having everyone fighting and having wars. I like the fact that this image of Jesus is with another person and this image of Jesus shows His attributes and morals by him talking to the younger boy.
Q6) What factors currently shape your image of Jesus and why?

Some of the factors that are currently shaping my image of Jesus is the colour, the time period and what should I include in my own Image of Jesus, these factors are shaping my image of Jesus because they are the main ones to think about when you are making your own image of Jesus.

- Jude 1:16-20
- Matthew 4:22-24
- John 12: 20-35
- John 1:29-32

Bible
The first passage that I have chosen to do is the Mark 10:46-52 which is titled Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight.

1. Describe in your own words the message of each Bible passage?

The message of this bible passage is that Jesus is always there to help anyone when they need it like in this situation the blind man, but in general the message of this bible passage is to trust God/ Jesus and he is always there for you and to help you when you need it even if other people are bagging you out. And that Jesus cares for everyone and treats everyone as his brother and sister.

This image of Jesus with His lamb regonises that he cares for everyone and treats them equally.

2. How is Jesus portrayed in the chosen passages.

- Jesus is portrayed in this passage by the Blind Man as “Jesus, the Son of David”, and with Jesus’ actions it suggests that Jesus was very kind and treated everyone equally even if they are disable in a way. He is portrayed as a healing and kind man through this bible passage.

This is an image of Jesus healing the Blind Man, as you can see, Jesus is treating the man very nicely and softly as he realises that the Blind Man is one of His brothers.

3. Discuss your personal response to the messages portrayed by the passages?

My personal response to the message being portrayed by this passage is:

- That Jesus is always there for us and even if we think that Jesus may not help us, we should always know that he is always willing to help us.

- One thing that this passage has taught me is to always love and trust God and he will help and stay with you.

- Jesus cares for everyone and always has time for everyone.

The second passage that I choose is Matthew 4:22-24 which is titled Jesus Heals the Sick

1. Describe in your own words the message of each Bible passage.

 - I think that the message being put through with this passage is that Jesus cares and loves us for him to preach the word of the Lord and Heal People who are sick.

- The real message being put through is that Jesus is always there for a helping hand when ever we need him and all we have to do is trust and believe.
2. How is Jesus portrayed in the chosen passages?

In this passage Jesus is being shown as a man of great power as he heals people who are sick of many ways and also that he is humbe, and kind with much love for His fellow brothers and sister (us).

This image above shows that Jesus is healing a sick man showing his love towards the sick man.
3. Discuss your personal response to the messages portrayed by the passages?

My personal response to the messages portrayed in this passage is that it is showing us Jesus’ true amount of love and devotion he has towards everyone.

And also that he is always there for you if you need him and all you have to do is believe Him, love Him and trust Him.

4. From the portrayal draw your own image of Jesus in one of the parables?

This part of my individual activity will be handed in with my hardcopy of this task on a seperate piece of paper.

~ The image uses dark colours like the purple as this is used for hair, eyes and lips.
~ Piercings are also used in this image which also gives the gothic touch.
~ But really, the main thing that makes this image Gothic is the dark colours that this image uses.

4. Discuss your personal response to the message portrayed by the artwork.

My response to the message portrayed by the artwork is that with this image of Jesus shows or represents a new look for Jesus and that Jesus is different than his usual self and the colurs (purple) show that he is a Gothic person and the Gothic art tend to make their figures look Gothic.

Two problems that could occur from choosen our groups include:

- We will choose our friends and in the work force, you need to work with people that you might not get along with.. But by choosing your friends, you might not get your work done as you would keep talking and bludging during class.

4. Which type of student do you was selected last?

I would most probally select the student that never does their work or even if they do it, it would be copy and paste, and the student that is quite and never express their opinions and the naughty kids as they might cost my group marks.

What perliminary reasearch have you done to commence your project?

- I have started this project well and done so with my reasearch. I have firstly started my reasearch with getting the important and precise definition of ‘ prototype’ which me and my partner can understand clearly. So me and my partner after reading and making our own definition of prototype, we came up with ” A prototype is an original form of something, which can include drawings about how the car will turn out to look like”. Also, then, I myself looked at some types of ford cars like the Falcon and Fiesta and looked at some parts of the car that we could ad to ours including the engine, muffler,  and wheels and also some features like spoilers and rims for the car.

Then I looked at drawing some designs with my partner using those features which make Ford cars unique. We tried drawings and using photoshop.

2. Define the term ‘Prototype’?

- After reading and examining the definitions of prototype, we came to a conclusion that a prototype is a drawings or something to that extent, which are used for drawing desings and examples on how the car might look like in the final product, when its finished.

3. Identify Ford Australia’s business brand?

- Well, ford is known all around the world but also in Australia. They are well known for their rivilry against Holden as can be seen with the V8 cars racing against each other. Ford use their logo to best sell their cars and that logo is known all around Australia.

What is an Informed Conscience?

In order to make a decision doctor’s access a wide range of medical knowledge and patient history in order to diagnose a problem and treatment. The same principle can be applied to making moral decisions. We must be well informed regarding all the facts of the situation, moral values, virtues and laws in order to make our final decision. Therefore, an informed catholic conscience is an educated conscience that knows in any given situation.

Read the following scenario and answer the questions:

Roger Smith, a quite competent swimmer, is out for a leisurely stroll. During the course of his walk he passes by a deserted pier from which a teenage boy who apparently cannot swim has fallen into the water. The boy is screaming for help. Smith recognizes that there is absolutely no danger to himself if he jumps in to save the boy; he could easily succeed if he tried. Nevertheless, he chooses to ignore the boy’s cries. The water is cold and he is afraid of catching a cold — he doesn’t want to get his good clothes wet either. “Why should I inconvenience myself for this kid,” Smith says to himself, and passes on.

1.) There are always TWO sides to a conscience. What would Roger’s conscience be telling him?

-Well there is no doubt 2 sides to his conscience. One which is the postive one will be telling him to jump in and same the little boy which would be the best thing to do and one is telling him, no, its not worth it, let the kid drown or freeze. It doesnt worry me. Which would be the negative and bad thing to do.

2.) Think of an example of Jesus’ teaching and explain how his teachings can help us to make an appropriate decision?

Well there is one special bible passage that I recall called the the good samaratin. This is a prime example when there conscience is tested to choose weather they help the man dying or just leave him there to die.
